At Golden Paws Pet Resort & Spa, it’s our goal to keep dogs happy when they stay with us, which is why we make safety a #1 priority for all our guests. That’s part of what makes our dog lodging the best in the Ocean County, NJ area, as well as Mercer County. Here are some of the precautions we take to make sure your dog stays safe:
We Require Proof of Vaccinations
Since our dogs interact with each other, if one has a contagious health problem, it can spread to others. To make sure our guests are as healthy when you pick them up. As they when you dropped them off, we require documentation, in the form of a veterinary certificate, proving recent vaccinations for the following:
- Bordetella
- Rabies
- DHLPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus)
We also require medication for flea and tick prevention, and strongly encourage vaccinations for Canine Influenza as well. Therefore where we always try to focus on Dog Health and Safety.
We Administer Your Dog’s Medications
Before you entrust your dog to us, you can give us instructions regarding the medicine your dog needs. Depending on exactly what your dog requires, our a la carte medication services include:
- Oral or topical medications per dose
- Injectable medications per dose
- Unlimited medication administration
Our TLC package, designed especially for older dogs, includes unlimited administration of oral or topical medications.
Please keep in mind that any medications, supplements, or vitamins must be given to us in their original containers, not mixed into your dog’s food. To help us keep our guests’ medicine organized, label the container with relevant information, including:
- Your dog’s name
- The name, strength, and dosage of the medication
- The name of the vet who prescribed the medication
We’re Prepared for Emergencies
We take every precaution to care for your Dog Health and Safety. But they are prepared for a worst-case scenario. We partner with Princeton Animal Hospital and NorthStar VETS. So, emergency care is always at hand if needed. In an emergency, we’ll record a detailed log of events so that you and you will have all the information you need.
We also take emergency contact information of someone besides you, who can make decisions if you are unavailable. Emergency backup contacts should be local, so they can pick up your pet if necessary.
